Deep Current
This pendant showcases a dramatic raw blue kyanite blade from Madagascar, set in a custom electroformed copper cradle. The stone possesses a deep, rich midnight blue—like the hidden depths of the ocean where light barely reaches. Its natural striations catch the light in subtle flashes, revealing layers of color that shift from ink-blue to shadowed sapphire along its raw crystalline form.
Using the meticulous process of electroforming, I grew the copper atom by atom around the stone's base, creating a seamless organic setting that appears to emerge from the kyanite itself. The warm, earthy copper provides a striking contrast to the deep, moody blues of the blade. Left raw and uncut, this piece celebrates the natural crystalline structure of the kyanite—a true fragment of the earth, suspended in time and ready to wear.
